400 Blows is a truly independent production company, making film-related documentaries from the stance of being, first and foremost, passionate about film. Since starting in 2000, 400 Blows’ documentaries and short films have been screened on Channel 4, Filmfour and Sky Arts, at the ICA Cinema, the Glasgow Film Theatre, the National Film Theatre, the Riverside Studios Cinema and at film festivals in Buenos Aires, Bologna, Cork, Leeds, London, Lisbon, Liverpool, Ljubljana, Milan, Newcastle, New York, Philadelphia, Split and Turin.

As well as promoting the production company, the 400 Blows' website aims to provide film researchers/students with access to unique archive material recorded for our productions. So, on the site you can find transcriptions of Tilda Swinton, Simon Fisher Turner and Peter Tatchell talking about one of England’s finest film-makers, Derek Jarman; Gary Oldman and Tim Roth talking about one of the greatest ever directors to come out of British TV drama, Alan Clarke; and Phil Davies and Simon Relph talking about the brilliant Bill Douglas.
